Google search vs Built in Vbulletin search

  • Hey guys, i want to add a google search bar to my site for 2 reasons:

    1: Adrevenue from search results
    2: saving server resources (if this is the case)

    my question is, does using the google search save system resources? also, is it as detailed in results as the built in search? will it search ALL pages of the forum?

  • I assume it'd save a bit of server resources.
    On the downside, it won't let you search for specific things like in a certain forum, posts by a certain user, with X replies, by date, ...
    It will search all the pages that are viewable by guests.
