It's 'Rain'ing
January 5th, 2009I first came to recognise his talents a few years back when I watched a Korean drama series in NZ... then I found out he was a singer.
I know he's popular in Shanghai, and Taipei... most of my friends are crazy for him.
How popular is he where you guys live??
it's worth anticipating..I've been in ur area quite a few times though.
I had Korean food there. And a friend of mine live at the apartments nearby.
And countless times hangin out at Ampang point..
thanks for the update ne!
I'm tryin to remember if I've ever been to Damensara... I know the name really well. I've definately not been to Dae Rang I know that. The Korean resturnats I've been to tend to be near-ish where I live... our area seems to be becoming Korean/ Japanese orientated area... there are a lot of new Korean resturants since I was there last year... and possibly a new video store... which will be exciting! I actually can't wait to go back.
I will definately look out for that movie here... and then drag all my friends to see it just so I can sit and fangirl!! Woo! ^-^ It's gona be completely weird seeing Rain in an English film...
I've just looked up Speed Racer on imdb.com and it says its for 2008 but Rain is only cast as rumored... and it's another damn Japanese remake... why do they insist on remaking everything from Japan... I suppose if they do have Rain in it it will be redeemed!
but then again I'm not exactly regular English person when in comes to knowin asian people. I agree, I don't think that many English people have heard of him.
He seems quite popular in Malaysia (my dad lives there so I spend a lot of time there). Last time I was there I kept seeing pictures of him on magazine covers and adverts for dramas and films with him in. But the area of KL we live in has a strong Korean community. Any my step mum's Korean so I tend to notice Korean things around the place!
Also I'm gonna try to rent 'Cyborg'.
Does anyone know of any new releases by him?:D

Watch this it's so funny. About Rain being Time's most influential person and some white guy doing a parody of him:D
Absolutely no idea... :relief:
But, he seems to have a significant following here because:
1. He has an official site for Japanese fans:
http://www.rain-official-club-japan.com/
2. He played at Budokan in Tokyo for 2 days in September 2005. (Budokan is a very large hall used as a concert venue--where the Beatles played in the 1960s and I went to see Eric Clapton and Celine Dion... ) You've got to ask the young Japanese girls about this, but I don't see any here... :hihi:
In Japanese, he's called Pi (Rain).
Otherwise, I haven't heard a lot of his songs yet, they're kind of hard to get :-)
he is very popular after the famous korean drama [full house]
one thing i must admit is his concert was fabulous!
i really enjoy his singing, dancing.
even the stage setting, props, lightings, sound system etc.
it was a blast!
Otherwise, 9 out of 10 people I mentioned about him didn't know who I was talking about.
However, I went to his Budokan event in June, it was a crazy amount of people came to see him.
Where do u normally go for shopping? My jam gotta be SungeiWang,
PetalingStreet,LowYatt and KLCC...but KLCC is quite costly though.
Maybe cuz i'm to used to SungeiWang.Anyway, the weathers really hot now.
it's a good time to go yo the beach, hav u been to PortDickson?
it's jut 2 hour drive from kl..
Rain is an awesome performer!!the way he dances is just too sexy!
i went to his concert in Kuala Lumpur, the i'm coming tour..kyah~
i can never forget that night!!he was so .......*speechless*
he looks so good in person, even better!! his english is kinda okay now,
he's improvin a lot!!Gambatte Bi!!
Now I need to try and remember the names of places... I havent been for a year and tend to forget the places I spend most my time!
For shopping I spend most time at Hartamas, KLCC, Mid Valley Megamall (when we can get there... the traffic to and from there can be terrible), Bangsar sometimes... again quite far for us. ... I actually cant remember the names of any other places I go... thats how bad my memory is atm...
The area I live in there is Mon't Kiara... so I occasionaly visit the plaza there but last time I was there they didn't really have a lot of stuff. Apparently they are openin a market there before I go back which should be fun.
I've been the the beach on the East Coast... not really explored the sea near KL yet.
WHEN WAS RAIN IN KL!!??? argh why do I always miss gigs when I go away!!! ::cries:: ... I missed Deep Purple in Singapore by a couple of days and the asian rock festival in Seoul by one day!! This hurts!!!
maybe next time huh?
So what do you think of his song with Omarion?
And what's your fave Rain song?
You're a young japanese girl at heart!
Thats nice that they call him Pi, as it is what he is known here also, but with more of a B sound. The B and P sound in Korea is very very very similar, and has the same character.
Thankyou also for posting the link!
Haha yeah i know what you mean about the dancing...so hot.
You know last year he was on the TIME most influential people list, woo go Rain- so it's not just crazed fangirls who think he's amazing huh?
He's always compared to Se7en, what do you guys think about that?
Moonchild....desperate...:p
The weathers nice! lol. Ok I'll try and be serious...
It has a fairly diverse culture. KLCC (petronas towers) are stunning. The view from the balcony at my house shows them perfectly. The shoppin in KL is alright and I got MoonChild DVD cheeply... so I can't complain at all! The problem is they tend to develop areas and that risks the culture of the place. For example Penang Island, from all accounts, used to be a stunningly beautiful island and somewhere any one would recomend you visit. Now it's comercialised and has no life or soul left. I don't know about other islands, I've heard good things about Langkawi (sp?) and some of the islands on the East Coast. I have to say I liked the east coast when I visited it.
The problem with me trying to describe Malaysia is I was in Singapore before so find it hard to not think of everything in comparison. (the city life side of things that is... as Singapore doesnt really have country!)
I know there are a lot of parts of Malaysia I have yet to visit. Any one else feel free to try and do the place slightly more justice than I have.
I do like goin out there. I love the way things don't shut as soon as it hits 5 and you can go late night shopping and the place is lively. I can always tell people in England who have been to Asia... they moan about the early closing times!!
This year it's the 50th aniversary of independance when I go back... so there should be good things on.
Any ways... I'm going to stop ranting.
he is who he is.Bi is Bi^^.He had lunch in the official Korean Restaurant in Malaysia,DAE RANG which is located near Damansara Utama..It was packed with fans since morning, waiting for him...
Well,he's got a rough beginning,and it's worth every sweat and tears,to where he is now,i think,personally^^.
The latest thing that I knew about him is that he's acting in an English movie!!!the title is Speed Racer, though I don't really know if it has been released yet or not,or when it will be released.Gomen.Anyway,good for him ne!! Away from the Sun rulez...
And i've never seen anything with Rain in either, what do you guys recommend?
What do you think of his song with Omarion?
No I never watched any of Rain's stuff when it was on. I don't think it had subs... and I only know a few words in Korean... so thats not goin to get me very far.

I was laughing like crazy, too bad I was at the salon,or else I'd ended up rolling on the floor!Naughty dude!
Whats Malaysia like? I'd love to go there, i used to know a bunch of people from there and the way they talked about it sounded like heaven!
Would love to go to a concert of his, but I don't think he has any plans to come to europe any time soon right?
