BC has help wanted signs all over I am 69 and can get workI live in a small town in mid-America, we don't have pan handlers. If someone needs help they have friends or family to help. No, it doesn't bother me that the panhandler may be better dressed than me. (He probably is as I dress like a bum). What bothers me is that they have to do it in the first place. Where are the pro-active programs to help these people before they got to this state? There are so many people with mental health issues (kicked out of Riverview Hospital, etc), living on the streets and totally incapable of looking after themselves. Our government just writes them off. At least with the Olympics coming to Vancouver/Whistler, this issue will be in the limelight again.
Sorry, I know that is not what you were asking but you hit a pet peeve of mine. (smile)I love the girls with the signs that say they're 6 months pregnant, even though they're flat as a board. Some of the homeless people are legit, which is sad, but most beggars just have nothing better to do and want to try to see how gullible people are.yeah i wont give money to a homeless person but, if they ask for food i will give them food. i agree totally there are people that stand with signs on our main corner asking for money. if they took all that time and effort holding a sign in the freezing cold they could use the same effort and get a good job. sometimes they are dressed better than me wearing top brands. yes it does some people I have met do it just to have something to do and I think that is just sad #If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
